When we started enabling payments with Wiza POS, our initial plan was to offer a fully customizable, non-hosted payment option,giving businesses more control and flexibility over look and feel. But as our clients began requesting integrations options and more payment partners, we realized that the non-hosted setup might introduce some complexities for all parties involved. Many of our clients were looking for simplicity and security without the need for technical know-how. This feedback inspired us to shift our focus to a hosted page payment option, while keeping the non-hosted page solution available for clients who prefer more customization.
To put it plainly, a hosted payment page is a secure, user-friendly solution for online transactions.
Here’s how it typically works: when a customer is ready to pay on your site or in-store,they’re redirected to a secure online payment page. Once on this page, they enter their payment details and are then routed back to your website or company screen after the transaction is complete. PayPal, Stripe and Square for instance, use hosted payment gateways for secure and streamlined purchases.
In Angola, we saw that this process was a quarter of the way done, so at Wiza, we’ve tried to fine-tune this process to the Angola context to further reduce fraud and minimize errors.
Here’s how our version works:
- Once a customer clicks on the payment option, essential payment details are auto-filled directly from the merchant’s system.
- The customer only needs to enter their phone number, linked to one of our partner Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
- Once entered, a notification appears on the customer’s payment APP, SMS, or USSD platform, requesting authorization.
- They verify and authorize the purchase, completing the transaction and advancing to the next step, whether that’s product collection or awaiting delivery.

Our hosted payment page offers a quick, hassle-free setup process. Once merchants have their account details from the PSP, they’re ready to accept payments without-the usual back-and-forth with developers. We believe that simplicity is key to getting our clients up and running as quickly as possible.
2. Top-notch Security
For added security and privacy,all payment acquisition and processing is handled by our PSP partners. Wiza’s system simply initiates the request and displays the response (a little bit more happens behind the scene), the transactional data security is guaranteed by the PSP. This approach ensures maximum security and peace of mind for both merchants and their customers.
3. Continuous Maintenance and Updates
At Wiza, we take care of keeping the hosted payment pages up-to-date and coordinate with PSPs to ensure uninterrupted service. Our team manages all technical updates and maintenance, so our clients can focus on running their businesses.
